Prefer container IDs over room poetry
Tag the safe, pouch, or sealed envelope with a short ID (for example, DG-A3) and store the mapping in the tracker, not on a sticky note that names the secret. When the pouch moves, update the mapping row — the ID stays stable.
Separate public and private maps
A household calendar can say “DG-A3 check due” without revealing contents. The private map that translates DG-A3 to a physical place should live with the same care as the backups themselves, ideally offline.
Rehearse after unpacking
